Quebec Immigrant Investor Program Introduction:

The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) is one of Canada’s most popular investor immigration programs. The program, started in 1986, attracts high-net-worth individuals to invest and settle in Quebec, strengthening its economy.

The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) attracts businessmen, executives, and officials to settle in Quebec. It offers immediate permanent residency in Canada, allowing them to live, work, and study anywhere in the country. Quebec’s high standard of living, education, healthcare, and multicultural environment are additional attractions for immigrants.

Another great advantage of the QIIP is that it does not require applicants to speak French, unlike other Quebec immigration programs. However, knowledge of French is a significant asset and can facilitate integration into the Quebecois community.

In addition to the financial benefits, the QIIP also provides applicants with a favorable tax regime. Quebec offers several tax incentives to investors, including lower tax rates on dividends and capital gains and various deductions on personal and corporate income taxes.

Application Eligibility Requirement:

To qualify for the QIIP, applicants need a minimum net worth of CAD 2 million, possess at least two years of recent business or management experience, and be ready to invest CAD 1.2 million in a government-approved project. The investment is refundable after five years. Applicants must also be willing to undertake a medical exam and a criminal background check as part of the application process.

Eligible Family Members:

Children below the age of 22 years

Investment Requirement:

After application acceptance, applicant will have 2 options as follows: either
a) Full investment option: make a deposit to Quebec Immigration (MIFI) of CAD 1,200,000 for 5 years. The QIIP guarantees the return of the deposit after five years.

b) Financing option through a Canadian bank: payment of one-time cost of CAD 360,000 (subject to prevailing interest rates). This payment is not refundable.

Citizenship Requirements:

To maintain permanent residency, individuals must physically reside in Canada for a minimum of three years within the past five years. Adults must actively pass a citizenship test and demonstrate sufficient English or French proficiency. Typically, when one parent acquires citizenship, children under 18 become eligible for citizenship as well. Children over 18 must fulfill citizenship requirements.
